Imperva Data Security Fabric demonstrates robust security and risk management practices to reduce risks across hybrid multicloud environments
The Forrester Wave evaluated the largest end-to-end providers of data security capabilities across a wide range of functionality to enable controls to enforce data security policies for both structured and unstructured data. In this report, Forrester provides an assessment of the top vendors in the market.
Forrester evaluated 14 vendors against 24 criteria, which are grouped into three high-level categories: Current Offering, Strategy, and Market Presence.
Key criteria for these solutions include data discovery, data classification, data use insights, data threat and risk visibility, data access controls, data loss prevention, data masking or redaction, encryption, rights management, tokenization, privacy use cases, data and information governance use cases, investigations, manageability and support, integrations for Zero Trust, and supplier risk.
Findings
In the Forrester Wave: Data Security Platforms Scorecard,Q12023, Imperva received the highest possible score of 5.0 for 7 criteria, including data classification, data threat and risk visibility, data masking, encryption, tokenization, investigations, and privacy use cases. Imperva has made great strides in data security by moving up from Contender in 2019 to a Strong Performer in 2023.
From its 2020 acquisition of jSonar to the launches of a data security business unit as well as the Tech Alliance Program (TAP), Imperva has taken major steps to enable a vision for protecting all data as organizations move their workloads to the cloud.

Database activity monitoring remains a core strength, reflected in Imperva’s capabilities for data threat and risk visibility. Imperva is also notable for its support for privacy use cases and investigations..
The Forrester report states,”Organizations looking for intelligence about data risks and user behaviors across hybrid multicloud environments and the flexibility of a data security fabric where they can customize via integrations should consider Imperva”.

- A sizable global presence. Each vendor included in this report must sustain at least 20% of its data security revenue outside its home region.
